Our House Family Child Care Home participates in the Child and Adult Food Program, a United States Department of Agriculture program.
Children are served a nutritious and balanced breakfast, lunch and snacks each day. See sample menu below. Meals are eaten together, children and adult. Meal time is seen as an opportunity to talk and interact in a relaxed atmosphere. Appropriate manners and skills are modeled. Whenever possible children will assist with meal preparation, table setting and clean-up. Children are encouraged to try all foods. Infant foods are homemade with the freshest ingredients. Should food substitutions be necessary, every attempt will be made to work with these in meal planning. Children with food allergies will be required to have a Food Substitution form filled out by their doctor and on file. Parents may be required to provide the food substitutions for their child. This will be determined on a case by case basis. |
